As many of you know, Leni’s pregnant again with her second kid. As many of you also know Leni’s BIGGEST JOB in her life is being an amazing mom. Lots of you don’t get to see this part of her but I do. Her and her husband are some of the best parents I’ve ever met. They’re just an incredible family.
She loves being a radio host almost as much, but we can all agree that one job is WAY more important than the other and it ain’t waking up at the crack of dawn to hang out with me while she could be making memories with her kids. After a lot of thought she’s decided to take on the hardest job of all. FULL. TIME. MOM. Here’s what she posted on Facebook earlier this week:
“Hello Facey Friends! A little announcement for you guys, ahead of when we announce it on air, because you’ve taken the time to like my page here: next week is my last week on the radio. Sob!!!
I’ve decided to stay home with the next baby, which I did with Anika and it’s been well established on air that I don’t do well being away from the little ones for long, especially when they are new born! I’m aware the next scamp isn’t due to touchdown for another 5mnths, but I’ve decided to use that time to get back in touch with some other Leni passions, like acting, improvised comedy, writing, shopping at the outlet malls etc! And to spend my mornings having brekky with my first born, before she has to share Mommy, in Jan.
Thankyou all SO MUCH for waking up with Frito and Leni for the last 18months. For each and every text and email and call that remind us we aren’t just talking to ourselves in a room. Thanks for tolerating my hippy wacky views and being so open to my particular brand of weird, which is quite foreign to what Texans are used to on their radio, I am sure!

So what now?
1) Farewell Week: Leni is going to be here all next week. So listen as much as you can to get your fix, send her goodbye texts, and enjoy her lovely voice.
2) Frito and Dempsey: Starting Aug 19th Katy Dempsey will join me as the new co-host of Morning Candy. We’ll be bringing lots of her stuff from her show to the new show which should be really fun.
I want to say personally a GIANT thank you to Leni for being an amazing person to work with. As fun as she is to listen to she’s a million times more fun to spend time with each day. She’s funny, opinionated, caring, and has one of the most unique views of the world that I’ve seen. So from me to her: Thanks for EVERYTHING, and congrats on never waking up before the sun again
